We work with the Belgian Charity Society, a non-profit organization created in Canada in 1921, which has a large network of volunteers to implement the two following charitable projects.
Scholarships for students
The funds raised will be used to award scholarships to enable young people from low-income families with a Belgian background to study at a university in Canada.
Young people are selected by the board of directors based on the following selection criteria :
- Parents’ and student’s financial situation
- Student’s paid work during holidays
- Student’s community involvement (volunteering),
- Student’s motivation
- Student’s link with Belgium
Each scholarship has a value of $ 1,000 (Canadian funds)
Number of scholarships available:
- Minimum of 6
- More depending on received donations
In December 2018, eight grants for 1000 dollars each were awarded to students who have shown considerable perseverance and achieved excellent academic results but now find themselves in difficult personal circumstances.

Relieving the poverty of people in distress
The objective of the project is to support Belgium linked individuals and families who live in extreme poverty in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada. The purpose is to help people live decently by providing housing assistance, helping to pay medical expenses not covered by the Health Insurance, and providing food.
The most common cases are those of lost income due to degenerative disease, cancer, multiple sclerosis, paralysis, etc. Such a sudden shock coupled to the deprivation of significant income threatens the future of the family or the isolated person.
Myriad Canada’s role is to carry out charitable activities across the globe in accordance with its charitable purposes. We control and monitor the use of funds and the progress of charitable activities to ensure that donations made to Myriad Canada have the greatest impact in accordance with donors’ expressed wishes. As a member of the Myriad Alliance with offices in Canada, the US, Europe, Asia and Australia, Myriad Canada has a vast international network and extensive practical expertise.
