The Egyptian Canadian Cultural Association of Ottawa (ECCAO) is proud to partner with MYF and Myriad Canada: Providing free of charge world class treatment to patients suffering from heart disease, training healthcare professionals at the highest international standards and advancing basic science and applied research as well as promoting biomedical research in Egypt, a remarkable event in support of raising vital funds needed for high quality healthcare to the underprivileged in Egypt, will take place on October 6, 2024, in Ottawa.
The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation Fund managed by Myriad Canada
The Canadian Friends of the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYF) was created to expand access to world-class treatment to meet the increasing demand for cardiovascular care, accommodate more patients, expand training programs and develop an Advanced Scientific Research Centre. The Aswan Heart Centre (AHC) was built in Aswan as the nearest hospital at the time was too far to provide adequate healthcare to the people of the region. Since then, MYF has been committed to providing free, state of the art cardiac treatment to those who could otherwise not afford it.
Myriad Canada and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation are pleased to be working together to support this project.
Objectives of the Gala
- Showcasing MYF Excellence: Present the interdisciplinary clinical and research activities performed at MYF.
- Networking and Collaborations: Foster connection among Egyptian Canadians and other Canadian Communities, celebrate culture, community and compassion, and enjoy captivating entertainment, while supporting The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation.
- Fundraising: Raise funds for the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre, clinical activities, capacity building, training healthcare professionals and research projects.
Myriad Canada’s role is to carry out charitable projects across the globe in accordance with its charitable purposes. We control and monitor the use of funds and the progress of charitable activities to ensure that donations made to Myriad Canada have the greatest impact in accordance with donors’ expressed wishes.
