International Newsletter – Autumn 2018
The Autumn 2018 International Newsletter of the Foundation is here.
Our opportunity to congratulate Dr Denis Mukwege, the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winner and a partner of the King Baudouin Foundation for many years. Dr Mukwege won the King Baudouin African Development Prize in 2011 for his remarkable work on women’s rights and women’s health. Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank, had won the King Baudouin African Development Prize in 2006 and subsequently won the Nobel Peace Prize. So Dr Mukwege is the second King Baudouin Development prize to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
It also includes an article on the initiative in the field of dementia which is being conducted by the Foundation together with other European foundations.
On pages 26 and 27 you will find an article on the Myriad Canada Foundation’s Wellbeing project: a scientific study conducted over almost three years on burnout in the social sector and the links between personal well-being and changes in society.
